We worked with professionals from the entertainment industry to make the design improvements on winches most needed in theatre operation. Among the resulting products is the Thern Clew Winch which can conveniently raise and lower light and scenery batons, either with or without counterweights. Our clew winches install easily, provide dependable control and – with a large, 5-9/16 inch diameter drum – help extend the life of the wire rope.

	Single reduction bronze worm gearing for accurate and secure operation.
	Cast gear case totally encloses gears and provides strength in a lightweight package.
	Oil bath provides continuous lubrication to minimize wear. Oil seals keep oil in and dirt out.
	Load holding brake provides positive load control.
	Hex drive input for operating with a drill.
	Large diameter drum minimizes wire rope wear.
	Key hole anchors for easy attachment of wire rope.
	Narrow drum compartments control fleet angle when clew is close to winch.
	Handle adjusts in length to change force required to lift load.
	Bronze bushings and ball bearings minimize wear and provide smooth and efficient operation.
	Durable satin black enamel and iridescent dichromate plated finishes resist corrosion.
	Welded steel drum and frame with solid steel throughshaft to support the drum.
	Dual keys transmit the torque from the drum shaft to the drum for double security.
	Guide bar aligned with drum allows infinite positioning of guide ropes to accommodate clews of varying width. Guide bar adjusts to align with different pitch diameters on the drum.
	Lock-out pin secures drum to frame in 12 different positions at 30° increments (less than 2 inches of load travel) to provide secondary load holding and prevent unauthorized use.
	Standard configuration allows wall or base installation.
	Single drum or double drum models available.
